Mexican Wives Club
There’s this club that my wife, Anna Perez, Missy Tapia and Teresa Soliz are heavily involved in. It’s called the “Mexican Wives Club.” The mission is simple: To learn how to effectively be the wife of a Mexican. My wife does well:
She knows exactly what to get her tejano husband at the grocery store.
Isn’t She Lovely?
I have this seemingly ongoing thing where I like to take candid shots of my wife and post them on my blog. Here she is sleeping:
It’s been her big birthday month… where I basically shower her with affection and unofficially make myself her slave. She’s wore out. She works hard… both vocationally and as a wife.
She’s perfect for me.
Love you boo!
Wedding Day
It’s Kev’s big day… we had 6 dudes sleeping in our room last night… every one of our wives have walked in saying that it “smells like straight butt in here”… I think I’m use to it, is that bad?
More updates to come as the day goes on.

“What are you doing? Why are you taking pictures of me?”
“Mad at you… I look fat”
(sigh)
(giggle @ facebook message)
She has a macbook in her lap… hott… say what you will. What traits, biological or not do you love about your spouse/significant other?
Living Room Romance
No, this blog isn’t about sex.
Last night my wife and I had a time of just sitting in our living room talking. We talked about life, love and God. The night ended with the two of us laying in the middle of our living room floor with our fuzzy blanket on. She fell asleep while I handpicked a soundtrack for the moment which I played through our surround sound. She woke up on the song that she walked down the isle to for our wedding.
Credits rolling… Full of Z’s.
It’s these moments that I love.
The "Bachelor Week" Soundtrack…
My wife has left me for 3.8 (rounding down) days to go and train for a sales position In Chicago for Cintas… “the Uniform People.” Each moment in life for me has its own soundtrack. This is the soundtrack for these four days:
I Don’t Need No Doctor – Ray Charles
Everyday I Have the Blues – BB King
Split Screen Sadness – John Mayer
Ain’t No Sunshine – Bobby Blue Band
Come Home – Ari Hest
U Got It Bad – Usher
Gone – Justin Timberlake
Aside from those, I’m really digging the new Deluge CD, which is Jonathan Stockstill/Bethany’s youth band. Same concept as New Wine in that it’s basically the same band they use for the adult music, just leaned up a bit and more edgy to cater to those “meddling” kids.

Marriage
This is my wife. She’s beautiful. She’s perfect. She’s everything I’m not and all that I could ever ask for in a girl. Let me elaborate…
Today a year ago she decided that she wanted to spend the rest of her life with me. Why is that so incredible? Well… first things first… I’m a musician. Musicians are renowned for being irresponsible, egotistical and selfish people. When it really gets down to it, I’m no different. This week was Valentine’s day and I sent her chocolates and flowers at her new job. This may sound weird to some of you… but I knew that this was the easy way out. Why? Because I know my wife… and I know that she doesn’t want “stuff.” She wants me… she wants to know that she has my heart… not just my pocketbook (which also belongs to her). Not only was this week Valentine’s Day… but it was our anniversary. What did I do for her? Well… I took her to IKEA and bought her stuff for our (her) new house. And once again… I didn’t get her anything sentimental… not even a card (wrist slap)! After a long day of shopping, tireless driving and listening to all the music I wanted to listen to, we came home and what did she do? Made dinner! Stir fry! Delicious stir fry! What is this creature God has blessed me with?
I knew she wasn’t happy. I knew I hadn’t kept her “love tank” full. And still somehow she managed to muster up a heartfelt dinner that she knew I’d like.
Bottom line is this. She puts up with all this and more on a regular basis. Somebody else needs to know about it. She’s wonderful and I love her more than anybody else on earth. She needs an award… a crown… SOMETHING… I love her.

Today for our 1-year anniversary my wife and I decided that it would be a good idea to go to IKEA and buy some stuff for our new house. As soon as we hit the parking lot we both realized… it was Saturday… it was IKEA… oh boy…
It was my very first time going so I was naturally excited to see what all the hype was about. Every tells of the greatness of IKEA.
It started off well. We got a relatively close parking spot. But then we had made the mistake of walking in with absolutely NO game plan. And so began the aimless walking around with no objective as to what we were looking for or where to find it. We became our own worst nightmare as she weaved in and out of insufficiently sized isles while I clumsily bumped into people made “sorry” into one of those words that start sounding weird when you say it too much. I think I even said sorry to a handrail once.
After visiting each of the 3 floors about 5 or 6 times, we finally found what we wanted. Luckily we made it home safe and sound. What a day…

A few days ago, I was officially put on a budget by my wife. I’m guilty. I’ve been spending too much money on food, music, coffee and more food. Now I’m only allowed $20 in food (going out to eat) per month and $50 for extra spending per month. It’s extreme but it’s for the best… for now…

I would just like to let the multitudes of people who read this blog on a daily basis that don’t know my wife, and may get the wrong idea about her from the last blog that I wrote… that she does NOT hate my long hair. She is not an evil, overbearingly opinionated person. She’s actually very sweet. And that she simply would like me to style my long hair differently if I decide to keep it. And yes, she is sitting right next to me…
